More than 700 heads of Indian Star Tortoises (Geochelone elegans) were confiscated.

Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) donated 50 heads of the abovesaid tortoises to the Hong Kong Society of Herpetology Foundation (HKHERP) for adoption, and the tortoises shown on the photos were delivered to the HKHERP from Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden (KFBG) on 17 Dec 2014.

Finally, we want to say that buying illegal tortoises will make only suffer more!

HKHERP can only take care of 50 heads in the first stage due to the limited resources, so we depend upon your donation to last out this critical mission.
